## What "free" means
"Free" means the registry (AFNIC for .fr, Verisign for .com) has no registration for this name at the time of the search. "Probably free" means no name servers are declared for this .fr, without confirmation from the registry: it may still be registered. Some free names remain reserved or are sold at a premium price: confirmation happens at the registrar, when you buy. A free name can also be taken within the hour: register it as soon as you have chosen it.

## The domain name is not enough
