A launch budget adds up three blocks: setting up the company (€223.56 incl. VAT for a SASU with the Essentiel plan at €0 excl. VAT, i.e. current legal fees only), startup costs (equipment, website, brand) and monthly overheads (tools, accounting, insurance, registered address). Divide the remaining funds you put in by the monthly overheads and you get the number of months you can last without revenue. Service-public

Where the setup cost comes from
The "setup" line uses the current legal fees: registration with the greffe (commercial court registry) (€33.83), the beneficial ownership declaration (€19.33) and the legal notice of incorporation. LegalRapide's Essentiel plan costs €0 excl. VAT: for a standard setup in mainland France, these legal fees are the only setup cost. Options (registered address, capital deposit) and special cases (contributions in kind, overseas territories) come on top. Service-public

Don't forget
- Share capital is not an expense: it stays with the company.
- Social security contributions and tax depend on your pay and your profit.
- A safety margin of a few months' overheads means a late payment won't force you to stop.
