Yes for your home address as a director: since the decree of 22 August 2025, you can ask for it to be hidden in the RCS (trade and companies register), on the Kbis and in filed documents. The national business register (RNE) already publishes only your town of residence. However, the registered office address is always public: if the registered office is at your home, your address appears as the registered office. To avoid this, register the company at another address.
What is public and what is not
| Information | Visible to everyone? |
|---|---|
| Registered office address | Yes, always |
| Director's home address in the RCS and on the Kbis | No, if you request confidentiality |
| Home address in the RNE | No: only the town of residence is published |
| Register of beneficial owners | No: it is no longer open to the general public |
Who can request it
Directors (président, gérant, directeur général, etc.) and partners with unlimited liability (partners in an SNC and in civil companies, such as an SCI). An ordinary shareholder of an SAS or SARL is not covered by this measure.
Since 5 May 2026: filing an extract of the documents
The company can also limit, from the outset, the personal information in documents filed with the RCS (articles of association, minutes) by filing an extract of its incorporation or amendment documents (article R123-121 of the French Commercial Code). For each individual named, the extract keeps only: surname, name in use, pseudonym, first names, month and year of birth, town of residence. This applies to everyone named in the documents, shareholders included. The registered office address, however, remains public. Service-public Sources (3)

How to do it
- The request is made on the guichet unique (one-stop online portal for formalities). The court clerk processes it within 5 working days; if there is no reply, you can refer the matter to the judge responsible for supervising the register.
- It can cover the company's past and future documents.
- The address remains accessible to the authorities, shareholders, the director's creditors and the professions listed by law.
If you do not want your home to be the registered office
Registering the office with an approved business address provider or in business premises keeps your home address from appearing as the registered office. See registering your company's address.
